Taunton School was pleased to welcome Bruce Chadwick from Water Aid and Clare Allan from Macmillan Cancer this week.
Each gave a short speech in the Headmaster’s Assembly at Taunton School before the school’s charity representatives Jordan Penn and Zoe Bush presented them with a cheque for £1,500 each.
Taunton School has had another successful year of fund raising with Cancer Research, Heartbeat, CLIC, St Margaret’s Hospice, Race for Life and a Ugandan Solar Panel School gratefully receiving generous donations from the school. The money was raised in a variety of ways but highlights included a music concert and fashion show, several school discos, a sponsored 35 mile walk, 17 year old Liz Hebditch’s calendar sale and a clothes sale hosted by Jenkin, one of the girls day houses.
Taunton School continues to take it's fund raising work very seriously and hopes to be equally successful next year in their support of the Joint Education Trust (JET), Guide Dogs for the Blind and a charity that helps vulnerable children in Independent Schools.
