Some of the best ideas can come from making connections between things that already exist. It follows that the more we know and understand, the more opportunities for connection exist.
One simple way of increasing creativity then, is to absorb as much information and expose yourself to as many different influences as possible. We don’t suggest experimentation with mind-altering drugs, rather that you become sponge.
Actively seek out experiences that you haven’t had before, expose yourself to different cultures, consume different types of media, music and movies, and engage with people outside your normal social or work circles. Not only will you have great fun doing it, but it will open your eyes to new and different ways of looking at things.
