An African platinum mine regularly experienced over 200 fights a month between its workers. The fighting, a result of the different ethnic cultures of the miners, made for a very difficult work environment.
When simple creative thinking techniques were taught to the miners, who had never been to school before, the number of fights dropped to just 4 per month.
What can we learn from this example?
Creativity can be used to address any challenge in business and, given the opportunity, everyone in an organisation can contribute ideas.
